The 2019 TianQin Gravitational Wave summer school was held between July 15th to July 26th 2019 at the Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat-Sen University.

This summer school invited 10 esteemed experts who are very active in the field of gravitational waves and precision measurement physics from domestic and abroad, and gave very informative lectures to students, covering various aspects related to space-borne gravitational wave detection.

This summer school has recruited 30 students from other institutes, apart from 50 students from the Tianqin Center of Sun Yat-sen University. During the summer school, in addition to the classroom discussions and interactions, the faculties and students of the TianQin Center and the summer school students also had multi-party interaction with the experts, spontaneously organized a number of discussion activities, strengthened communication and deepened friendship. At the end of the summer school, the experts provided test questions for the students and tested how well the lectures were received by the students. The Tianqin Center also awarded outstanding student certificates to some of the students who performed well during the summer school.

In order to develop the future research and development team of gravitational wave detection in China, expand the students’ academic horizons, inspire scientific research ideas, and enhance academic ability, the TianQin Center has been holding gravitational wave winter schools or summer schools regularly since 2016, recruiting outstanding graduate students in related fields, with each school lasting one to two weeks . At present, it has trained about 200 students, effectively expanding the academic influence of the TianQin Center.

Number of students: 30 from other universities and 50 from SYSU.
